CQUSA Board of Directors
The Student Association is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of 12 directors. Nine Board Directors are students who possess Ordinary Membership (as defined below) and have been elected by the Ordinary Members who they represent. The remaining three Board Director positions are appointments - the CQU Council's nominee; the Vice Chancellor's nominee; and a person who may be appointed by the Board for expertise.
The Board of Directors meets on at least a bi-monthly basis to review the Student Association's operations and to formulate the organisation's policies by which the Student Association operates and is governed by.
The Student Association's Board of Directors also speaks on student's behalf on various CQU Committees to ensure that student's views, rights and interests are adequately represented at these committees.

Ordinary Membership of the CQU Student Association
CQU students are no longer automatically members of the CQU Student Association (since 1st July 2006).
Students are now required to voluntarily apply to become an Ordinary Member of the CQUSA.
To possess CQUSA Ordinary Membership, students must submit a membership application form and have attached a copy of their current CQU enrolment advice to the CQUSA Campus Services Office. Upon submission of the student's application and enrolment advice, a student is classed as an Ordinary Member of the CQU Student Association, for the current term of enrolment.

Board Casual Vacancies
When vacancies occur on the Board between elections, the vacant Board positions may be filled by the ‘Casual Vacancy Process'. Applications are called from Ordinary Members for the vacant positions, which are widely advertised (refer to the Student Involvement webpage).

Elections
When an Election occurs, a call for Ordinary Members to nominate for the vacant Board positions on the CQUSA Board of Directors is published across all CQU Campuses.
Interested students must be CQUSA Ordinary Members and may only nominate for a vacant Board Director position in the same enrolment category as their own. Similarly only CQUSA Ordinary Members are entitled to vote and may only vote for the Board Director candidate who will represent their enrolment category.
