CQU Postgraduate Research Students Committee

I would like to welcome all new postgraduate research students at CQU on behalf of Postgraduate Research Students Committee (PRSC) of CQU.

I joined the PRSC in 2005 as executive member and during 2006 have been elected as the Chair of the PRSC. I have been enrolled at CQU since 2004, and am currently my half way through of postgraduate study within the Plant Sciences Group, faculty of science, engineering and health. I would be happy to liase with members of the CQU's postgraduate research student community.

The PRSC encourages all postgraduate research students to come along to our monthly meetings and have your say and take advantage of its representative body.


CQUSA PRSC Awards for Excellence

The CQU Postgraduate Research Students Committee (PRSC) invites submissions for the 2008 awards for excellence.   These awards reward excellent work demonstrated by postgraduate students, and their supervisors, at CQU. They also raise the profile of postgraduate research projects and the CQU research community.

CQUSA Academic Advocacy Services

During your studies at CQU you may need active support regarding your rights, responsibilities and assistance in understanding University policies and procedures. The CQU Student Association has professional and dedicated Academic Advocacy Staff employed across all CQU Campuses to deliver a variety of student Academic, Advocacy and Support services to all students including Distance Education, Undergraduate and Postgraduate students across all Campuses.

What we're all about

The mission of the CQU PRSC is to counter the sense of isolation experienced by higher degree research students through encouraging an atmosphere of collegiality at CQU and promoting a sense of membership within a community of scholars. We aim to promote intellectual and social interaction and we will work to improve the standards of services and facilities for all higher degree research students studying at CQU.


What we do for you

The Objectives of the PRSC shall be to:

represent postgraduate research members of the CQU Student Association (hereinafter referred to as the CQUSA);

promote the interests of, the postgraduate research community of the University to CQU, the University, CQUSA and the communities in which CQU is located;

work with the CQUSA and with the University to promote the objectives of CQUSA's Mission , Vision and Values;

promote inter-discipline academic collegiality and social contact between postgraduate research members of the CQU;

disseminate information of interest relevant to postgraduate research members of the CQU;

advocate for adequate CQU amenities and services for postgraduate research students;

develop strategies and actions to promote research opportunities within CQU;
