Uni life is not just about getting an Education!

Clubs and Societies are an ideal way to get involved and meet other students with similar interests. For those interested in joining one of the Student Association affiliated clubs and societies, initial registration takes place during orientation week.

Orientation gives interested members a chance to see what clubs and societies are available, get information about the club and register. If we do not offer a club in which you are interested, you may wish to form your own club.

All you need is ten interested students and the necessary paperwork completed.

What Categories of Clubs are there?
There are four categories of Clubs, they are:

An Academic Club (A) - is one whose objectives base the Club's activities on assisting/educating student members within a certain Faculty/School and who may gain support for this from a CQU department.

A Recreational Club (R) - is one (not recognised as a sporting club) that organises activities, events and opportunities for its members of a recreational nature. These pursuits may be conducted indoors or outdoors, on or off campus, or any combination of the above.

Social/Cultural Club (S/C) - is one whose objectives are fundamental to furthering the social/cultural experiences of its student members whilst studying at CQU- whether it be using the club as a support network for international students or a social avenue for new/existing students to meet new people.

A Sporting Club (S) - is one whose primary objective is to foster and encourage its member's participation into sporting competitions and events at local, regional, state or national levels. Only sports recognised by the Australian Sports Commission may be affiliated as CQUSA sporting club.
